Innovation & Leadership in Engineering Technologies and Therapies (ILET2) for Diabetes Training Program
Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience
Type of Position:
Job Category:
Post-doctoral positions are available at the Georgia Institute of Technology under the NIH funded ILET2 postdoctoral training grant program. The positions entail research focusing on treatments of insulin-dependent diabetes and ranging from insulin delivery by microneedles to cell- and tissue-based therapies involving encapsulated islets or islets delivered with materials promoting tissue engraftment. All projects are collaborative between Georgia Tech and the Emory University School of Medicine and have strong bioengineering and translational components. We are looking for candidates with a strong bioengineering background, who are willing to work in an interdisciplinary environment and interact with engineers, life scientists, and clinicians, in making substantial contributions towards the next generation technologies and therapies for treating insulin-dependent diabetes. A unique feature of the positions is that, as part of the ILET2 postdoctoral training program, significant educational and professional development opportunities are provided, as well as cross-cutting exposure to multidisciplinary laboratories and research.
